The Heat! Oh, The Heat!
Recently, a fellow employee here at Meow Wolf announced she was transferring to our property in Denver, Colorado: Convergence Station. I was sad to hear she is leaving us.
She explained that she just couldn't take the Las Vegas heat anymore and was moving for that reason. I don't blame her at all. The winters here are nice and mild, but the spring, summer, and sometimes even the fall can be brutal.
Today, for example, feels unbearable. Imagine you preheat your oven to 350°, then crawl in there with a hair dryer and aim it at yourself. That's what today feels like.
I don't know how I could survive without air conditioning in general, but here especially. I don't even care what the bill is at the end of the month, although ours is much better since we got a new air conditioning system. But I'll pay whatever to stay cool.
Just walking into work today was such a difference. The cool air that greeted me was sorely welcome.
They started issuing neck fans to us at work. I'm thinking whoever invented those should get to go to heaven just for that. They have been a godsend. It's like everywhere I go, I'm under an air conditioning vent. Wearing one has changed my mood, attitude, and life.
Some day I would like to move from here, too. I do like the winters, though. But the summers? Ugh!
