Mask Mandate Lifted in Nevada
Disclaimer: Any opinions I write about here are my own and do not necessarily represent those of Meow Wolf, the company for which I work.
Yesterday Governor Sisolak lifted the mask mandate that has been in place for some time here in Nevada.
To be honest, I'm kind of relieved. I'm sick of people fighting about it, and at work, I am tired of being the "mask police," especially with guests that are difficult and obstinate about following our attraction's mask policies. Now my fellow workers and I can just concentrate on the more entertaining and functional parts of our job.
As employees, we are still required to wear ours, which I would have chosen to do anyway. I will still be wearing a mask in public indoor venues as well. What other people choose to do is their prerogative.
As far as how this will affect COVID outbreaks, I hope we are past the worst of COVID. I hope we can resume something that feels close to normal again. But I'm okay with people not having to wear masks anymore. There was a time when I wasn't. I'm just weary of the divisions mask wearing has caused. I'm to the point where if someone chooses not to wear a mask or be vaccinated, there's nothing I can do about that. Whatever the consequences are is on them.
Hopefully the worst of COVID has past us by. I guess only time will tell.
