Beauty in Garbage Bags
Isaias and I took what basically amounted to a day trip to Camarillo, California to pick up my niece and great-nephews, who will be staying with us for a month.
On the way, I saw what appeared to be clumps of yellow wildflowers on the side of the freeway. At least, that's what I thought they were. As we drove closer to them, I realized they were bright yellow garbage bags.
I'm not sure what was in them—garbage or something else? Who knows?—but there were several piles of them placed every few hundred feet.
I had thought they were bright, beautiful yellow wildflowers, but when I realized what they really were, they did not cease being beautiful to me. In a sea of beige desert, they were like little beacons of color.
It reminded me that one can find beauty and positivity in many things that, at first glance, might seem ugly or ordinary.
There is beauty in so many things, even if we don't realize it.
